Flower power: The Bouqs.com Review
I love fresh flowers. There was a time when I always had fresh flowers at my office desk (I try to keep it up but it's hard!). They just make me happy. I love painting them, looking at them, smelling them, I love flowers!
So when The Bouqs approached me to review their online flower service, I didn't hesitate to say yes. I had never heard of them but after googling, saw they have a pretty devoted following. Ordering was easy and I like the ease of the site's user interface. Points for that. The only thing I didn't like was that it was extremely difficult to choose a bouquet because the curated selection was on point. Every choice was beautiful and starts at $40.
I ended up going for "just make it awesome"
when the package came I was a little disappointed to find that I got roses (I knew I should have picked Ranunculus!) but they were beautiful nonetheless and packaged pretty securely might I add.
The Bouqs claim to fame is that they are fresh cut to order and come from an active volcano in South America (their farms offer a living wage, adult education, childcare, and healthcare) so they arrive fresher and last longer. They looked pretty upon unpacking but several days after, they really opened up and I was surprised to see them still looking fresh even a week after delivery.
I got a deluxe bouquet and was able to make 4 arrangements out of it.
After receiving my bunch and seeing how they fared, I am a fan and if I have to send flowers to anyone across the country - the Bouqs it is. I wouldn't do it for myself all the time because I like to support local businesses and I'm more of a spontaneous flower purchaser. Plus living in NYC where you can buy a pretty great bouquet for $20-$25 it's hard to break the habit. But sending flowers to my mother in law or to a friend somewhere in the country? Bouqs it is.
Btw, with Mother's Day coming up, now is a good time to try something new and send a Bouq arrangement. Click here to register and receive 20% off your next order AND Free shipping (yep yep!) *hint hint: I'm feeling Marshmallow - what about you?
